1. Claudia Alvarez
In 1995, at the tender age of 13, Claudia Alvarez signed on with a Spanish company as a model and immediately began working in television commercials. Subsequently, she attended university and majored in advertising. Soon after Claudia abandoned her studies in advertising to focus on acting, she portrayed Juana Prudencia in the Mexican serial Las Juanas on TV Azteca, and the show “so that became part of the CEFAC.”
Afterward, she played Sofia in the soap opera and TV Azteca and Canal Caracol Amores Cruzados, which also featured Colombian actresses Ana Lucia Dominguez and Patricia Vásquez, her partner Claudia Michell Gurfi, and the villain, Andrea López. In 2012, she starred alongside Fernando Colunga and Blanca Soto in the telenovela Porque el amor manda, written by Juan Osorio. Her character, Veronica, was the main female antagonist.
2. Mariana Bayón
Best known as the winner of the first cycle of Mexico’s Next Top Model, Mariana was featured on the cover and in an editorial for the Mexican issue of Glamour.
Bayón also obtained a US$100,000 contract and representation from Shock Modeling, one of the leading modeling agencies in Mexico. She also received an MXN$20,000 gift card from Sears and trips to London and San Francisco from Sedal and Volaris, respectively.
Then, Bayón signed a contract with the prestigious German modeling agency Model Werk. Nonetheless, Shock Modeling is still her primary agency. They walked the runway for the Liverpool department store’s Fashion Fest show. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Mexico also chose her to represent the brand.
She was also featured in Alejandro Fernández’s “Me hace tanto bien.”
3. Carmen Campuzano
Campuzano has been on the cover of Vogue three times and is a multiple-time winner of top modeling honors.
She was also featured in an episode of the Mexican anthology series Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real in 2005. The episode said to have been approved by Campuzano herself, focused on the actress’ medical crises, which included a bout with meningitis she claims was caused by her ex-cook poisoning her food.
This was an automobile accident that exacerbated her addiction to prescription drugs and cocaine. She was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital, where she claims she was physically mistreated. Frances Ondiviela, a Spanish actress, played Campuzano in the episode.
4. Daniela Cosio
Daniela has contracts with the New York and Milan offices of Major Model Management. She was featured in magazines like Vogue and Maxim internationally.
The list of designer brands she walked the runway for includes Marchesa, Baby Phat, Chado Ralph Rucci, Mara Hoffman, Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Betsey Johnson, and Pamella Roland. Cosio had an appearance in a commercial for Pantene Shine Satisfaction back in 2010.
She appeared in Express’s Spring/Summer 2012 ad campaigns. Cosio made it to number 25 on Models.com’s “Money Girls” list because of her work on the company’s “Express Loyalty” and “Love” fragrance campaigns for men in spring/summer 2012.
5. Paulina Flores
Paulina Flores Arias is a Mexican model who was born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, in 1980. She won the national title of Nuestra Belleza México in 2000. Then she went on to represent Mexico in the Miss World pageant, which was held in London, England, on November 30, 2000. Paulina Flores Arias was crowned the winner of the pageant. She is presently working as a fashion model professionally, and she has been represented by several modeling agencies, both domestically and internationally.
6. Lupita Jones
Mara de Guadalupe “Lupita” Jones Garay is a Mexican television producer, model, actress, and beauty queen who was awarded the title of Miss Universe in 1991. Jones Garay was born on September 6, 1967. She was the first woman from Mexico to compete for and win the title.
Jones has held the position of national director of the Mexican division of the Mexicana Universal franchise continuously from the year 1994. She has been responsible for the training of Ximena Navarrete, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2010, as well as Andrea Meza (Miss Universe 2020).
In the gubernatorial elections that were held in Mexico in 2021, Jones ran for the position of governor of the state of Baja California.
Actress, model, and former Mexican Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete is now a TV host in her own country. She was only the second Mexican to ever win the Miss Universe competition, which she did in 2010.
When she was 16 years old, Navarrete began her career as a model and soon after entered several beauty pageants in Mexico. Immediately following her victory in the Miss Universe competition, Ximena Navarrete began volunteering for several charitable organizations, including Children International.
8. Montserrat Oliver
A multitalented Mexican star, she was born Montserrat Lourdes Socorro Oliver Grimau on April 13, 1966. Her resume includes roles as a model, businesswoman, actress, and talk show host.
At the age of 16, Oliver began her career as a model. She was promptly featured on the cover of Vogue, a magazine in which she would appear frequently throughout her career.
At the beginning of her career, Oliver relocated to Miami, where she began modeling for publications like Elle and Top Model. She landed a role in the Fox series Fortune Hunter when she was in Miami. During the same period, she also presided over the Telemundo program Basta as its host.
Together with Yolanda Andrade, Montserrat presents the late-night Televisa talk show Mojoe, which also features musical performances. She is married to Yaya Kosikova, a Slovak fashion model.
9. Vanessa Ponce
Model and former Mexican beauty queen Vanessa Ponce hails from Mexico. In 2018, she was awarded the title of Miss World, being the first Mexican to do so, as well as the oldest victor in the competition’s history up to that point. Vanessa Ponce, who is also well-known for her charitable work, is currently toiling away at a project called Na Vili, the primary objective of which is to assist the children of Mexican day laborers.

In 1995, Bentez won a modeling contest in Costa Rica, which launched her career as a fashion model. Her career quickly advanced from its humble beginnings at a single firm in Mexico to larger ones in the United States, where she gained prominence and ultimately relocated to Europe.
Upon being allowed to appear in Vogue Italia, one of the world’s leading fashion journals, she graced the journal’s cover for three consecutive months beginning in 1996.
Following her signing with Elite modeling agency, she began to grace the pages of publications including Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire. Bentez earned the offer that would start the success and worldwide recognition of any model after appearing on the covers of Vogue in several countries, including Mexico, Greece, Germany, and Marie Claire on many occasions.
11. Zuleyka Silver
Actress and model Zuleyka Silver has appeared in several episodes of hit television series, including 90210, Big Time Rush, Touch, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and The Bold and the Beautiful.
She tried out for the third season of Model Latina in 2009 and came in as the show’s runner-up. A native of Mexico, she tried out for the 2013 edition of Nuestra Belleza Latina, where she was given the chance to portray Mara José Tenorio from Jenni Rivera’s first film, Filly Brown, and was photographed as if she were the famed Mexican actress Mara Félix.
She played the character of Kamilla on an episode of the American police drama Code Black in 2016. In 2016, she had a guest appearance on an episode of the American TV show Hawaii Five-0 as Isabel. She played Selena in the 2017 episode “Potato Salad, a Broomstick, and Dad’s Whiskey” of the American TV show Young Sheldon.
12. Bianca Soto
In 1997, Soto represented Nuevo León at the national beauty competition Nuestra Belleza México. In the same year, Soto won the title of Miss Mexico World and went on to represent her country at the Vina Del Mar pageant in Chile.
Soto made her acting debut in the Jack Hartnett–written and –directed short film La Vida Blanca, which she also co-produced with her husband at the time. As a result of her performance, she won the acting industry’s top honor. Later, Soto appeared in films including “Divina Confusion,” “Deep in the Valley,” and “Dinner for Schmucks” in supporting parts.
Recently, she was seen in the music video for “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right” by Billy Currington (winner of sexiest video of the year at the CMA). Soto has appeared in ads for GAP, LensCrafters, Venus Swimwear, Avon, Andrea, Charriol, Foley’s, Yellowbook, Zara, Garnier, and Budweiser in her modeling career.
